I'm not going to go into much further detail, seeing as how I already wrote up an email to CK about this a week and a half ago and still have it on-hand.  So, read the below edited email, and tell us what you think of the idea!

A webcomic. Yeah, I know at first it may sound out of place and/or tacked on. Heck, I like absolutely no other comics; super heroes and whatnot? Nah, I'm good. But just roll with it for a sec while I explain. Comics created using Half-Life 2's Gmod in which people take screenshots of characters and create stories from them are a huge part of that community and I've always wondered why the Halo Community doesn't have anything similar. Sorry to Stuntmutt, but One One Seven is just.. boring. Not funny, no story, horrible artwork. I can't think of any one thing good about it. Some of the other Halo webcomics I've come across are good -- like that one one HBO that's done using Halo action figures and photoshop.

But all pale in comparison to any one of the HL2 comics out there -- these all have great storylines, camera placement, and good writing. There are a slew of different types -- comedy mostly, but a few great action titles shine out. My favorite comic of all is from PHWonline -- Apostasy. Seriously, take a little bit of time (since you have high-speed, the pages shouldn't take as long to load) and look through some of these.  A little later on, they're just pure gold.


I think we, with the help of people like Dojorkan or Firestorm could basically have a nice webcomic online on the UNSCDF. I actually put together a test panel to go by.  It's from a collage of Dojorkan pics he sent us for the site a while back. Note that originally my file crashed that I had had it on in WordPerfect -- it's still there, but I can't access it at all.  So currently there's no speech bubbles or text (last panel is supposed to be a "next week.." thing, with a UNSCDF logo in between that and the second to last panel).


Anywho, to put it bluntly, I think this thing could be great, with LoneRanger, me, and maybe Saint working on a storyline and Dojorkan providing images. I could do the editing, although my skills are extremely limited. I'd suggest someone who actually has photoshop to tackle this one -- this Test one I made was assembled in Paint (yeah, not fun).


So here's the link to my test strip -- hope you get as excited about this as I currently am. If you are interested, I'll finish it up this weekend hopefully and upload it to the forum to see what that bunch thinks.

hmm....interesting. I'm for it.

I got an idea, Give me a couple days, I'll spit out a test comic.

Edit:I had some free time and threw a part of one together. It has no captions/dialog and its only 1/3 complete. I know it's a little dark, I forgot to edit that before I uploaded it.

Heh, I challenge you to find the 3 photoshoped images (remember, this is Halo PC I'm using, hint, hint)

Bonus points to point out the obvious photoshop.

(if your a XBOX 360 owner and on XBL, I'll throw in a free downloadable Halo Trilogy theme/background)

Obvious photoshop?  Last one.  The other two I'd say are the fourth and fifth. 


Oh, and although Fires7orm may very well be the one who will do this comic (talked through PM) -- it doesn't mean we will not have guest strips, or even other comics totally unrelated to this one.  So anyone who may want to be on backup for guest strips, or a totally new comic series that you do yourself, go for it.  Comics will be just one of the many things we will be offering under the new Gamespy hosting.



Keep posting examples here of your work, if you have any!

obvious one - 2th (Cant be 2 people on campaign mode!)

The ones I guess...

7th (Last one, Cant enter wraith on Halo PC!)
6th(second to last one, cant be 2 people playing on a campaign mode!)
2nd(the 2 people on the campaign mode...)

Close. Actually, in the last frame, I had bump possessed a elite. Thus allowing me to board a wrath tank.
