I was thinking, once halo 3 comes out, and I have access to Saved Films, I think I might do a small, comedy Machinima about the UNSCDF staff.
We could have a MS Spartan walk in. His voice would mutter something like, "The site's coming to an end, the forum's lazy, Ck isn't here, no one turns stuff in on time, etc." MS ramblings. NO offense man, I only thought of that after I heard there were more doomsday E-mails..
Dav- "So if he named his kid 'Jar-jar. Then, that could mean the Prophets..."
M6D- "270000 calliber round with 1 f.p.s. muzzle velocity= ownage"
Teltura- "Hey everybody, I had a great idea AND............ (MIA)"
Hope you catch my drift, so uhhhh post your comments. Am I stupid, insane?

Heh, love it. Do it, NOW. Seriously. Go ask Bungie and see if we can come down and film it on whatever build they have.
I can work out the lines to a full degree if you want to handle the basic plot/starter lines. Heck, you know I have experience with this kind of stuff with the comic.
And for the TelTura line, this may sound sick, but here's my interpretation.
-Cut to- Tunnel area nearby Pelican crash on Valhalla
Dialogue, TelTura model "So Silva, here's page six of the first Replika issue. I can start work on issue two tommor-"
On screen action Sniper round (OS) enters through the TelTura model's head, he falls to the ground, dropping a photoshopped-in comic strip. You can barely make out the phrase "Hergt.. blah" admist the echoing sniper report.
I guess I'll be the guy who comes in and beats your armor-clad butt sea to shining sea. Oh wait, we don't need a script for that to happen. :o
Seriously though, it could work out. "LoneRanger" would just be the smartass sitting in the back corner chipping away at the Great American Novel though. Might not be the most interesting piece of film ever produced.
"Major Silva" would be there right alongside me, blathering on about how Bungie's underdelivering on Halo 3 (How would Frankie feel about that, M$?).
As for the rest of you? You'd just be targets in the shooting gallery of my heart. Well, that was unexpected...

We should all voice ourselves, I think. Remember, though. We are creating the most exaggerated, stereotyped versions of ourselves as possible. Reason, to be funny. I've finished the introduction sequence, and I'm starting on the actual dialogue.

I've finished the script. I'm going to polish itup a bit, then I'll send it to Silva for editing.
BTW: Grantix, you pop up in the end of the film chatting with M6D. Then LR shoots at M6D and they go off and fight. Them, Cody and I blow Wu out of the Valhalla base and onto the Man-cannon. You say something about an interview and jump after him.
SPOILER: CK comes back in the ending. The reception isn't too warm.

Just a note.. M6D's British, if you hadn't noticed before. Perhaps we could get him to do his own lines, but a while ago in a funny (maybe) email I sent to LoneRanger I pegged him as having a deep, raspy, heavily accented voice. More Australian than British, but the public wouldn't know the difference :).
I'll edit this post with it in a bit.
Edit:
"Heh, Pelican article? Good luck with that. Sounds like a good movie... In fact, I could see it now:
"Two years in the making.."
CK: "We got to get this finished before it's all over man!"
"..Two lazy article writers.."
M6D: "Dere's no way. We need more time!"
CK: "Well we ain't got more time! We only have 12 hours before this whole block goes up!"
"..One Mission"
M6D: "Well then we're gonna have to make more time, bloke. Dere is anotha. One who could end dis."
CK: "No.. not."
M6D: "Yes. I've no idea if 'e can 'elp us, but we gotta try."
CK: "But he hasn't written a single article!"
M6D: "Then let this be his 'fust."
"A Hero emerges.."
LR: "Uh, hey guys.. need any help?"
CK: "There are those who said this day would never come."
M6D: "Whatta dey t'say now?"
LR: "Uh.. ok? Why are you guys being so dramatic, and why is the fact M6D is British being over-amplified? And why's his voice all low and raspy?"
LR: "Ah, that thing? Come on. Seriously, why don't you just ask Silva or something? The Pelican article's been in production since the site began. How could I change that? Screw it, I'm leaving."
"A Hero.. Leaves?"
M6D: "Whatta we 'gonna do now, mate?"
CK: "Ah, forget it. Just say the article is "In Production". We'll get it done sometime.
M6D: "What about the block exploding.. the twelve hours?" (raspy, dramatic voice disappears now, giving way to a "regular" British accent")
CK: "Meh, I made it up."
M6D: "Oh.. Uh.... Humm.... Wanna grab a spot of tea?"
CK: "Sure, whatever."

/End Trailer
Heh, that was long. Hope it wasn't grating on you.. had fun writing it though. Maybe get Grantix on that and make a short machinima. Could be funny :)."
Heh. We'd need to edit it/add to it, but it might be funny after it's done :).
Crap! I'm just writing the script. I have a Mac, therefore, I am very limited in terms of my ability to run stuff with the 360. I'm not gonna buy Final Cut Pro either.

I think he's saying he is using a Mac, and as such he has less ability to make movies (I'm like WHAT?) and so he is subtly asking if someone else has a capture card. I can edit stuff with Adobe Premiere, but without a 360, Xbox, or capture card I am slightly limited.
Stephen has a Mac. This means, that many capture-card programs do not run on his computer.
He has his bundled iMovie HD, not Final Cut Pro. This program is used used on This Spartan Life as well as other Machinimas. iMovie HD will suffice, though.
Stephen will have acces to an Xbox 360 and a 480p Camcorder. The Machinima can be made this way.
(Note: This depends on the game's Saved Films controls. I will be able to add widescreen, thus eliminating stuff below. If controls are in the center of the HUD, I will not be able to delete them.
It is possible that we might have to film this in Halo 2, only if the Saved Films don't work the way I expect them to.

Most camcorders allow you to plug in a component connection into the TV's output part, which then allows you to film directly what you see. It's the same principle as a capture card, there's just one step in between going from the TV to the Computer, that step being the Camcorder. It's not like you'll be seeing some fuzzy screen with lines jumping up and down it whenever you film a TV the old way. The camcorder is getting INPUT from the TV's OUTPUT...
Nope, it doesn't. No affordable capture cards can be found. One exists for Mac. $200, I think.
I saw a nice one for $50 by ADS Technologies, but it requires Windows XP. Maybe my dad has an extra install copy. Then I could run Boot Camp. If he does, I'll see if I can run it. I have the power, not the OS.
If the Boot Camp works, I'll buy the Capture card. It's RCA to USB. If anyone has a Windows XP machine, I wouldn't mind chipping in a bit so they could run it. That would make recording simple, but it would be them, and I kinda feel like a Director, but so what.
I'm copying the script onto my CPU, I'll post it soon.

I may have found a solution, but it's just extrapolation.
First, I need a question answered about the public saved films. They are available via Bungie.net, correct? I THINK I read somewhere that you would be able to download them onto your Computer. Then I could... Wait, how would we do the camera angles? Hmmm... I guess it's just better if someone else does it.
Does anyone have a capture card? If not, I think we might need some outside help. We could post an opening for "Camera-man" on Machinima.com. That is unless Grantix can't do it.
I am UNABLE to do it. 'Nuff said.
EDIT: Doing a slight re-write of script. Should be done on Monday.
