[Update 3]: Signup Sheet is LOCKED! Emails are being sent. Let the games begin!
[Update 2]:We've now opened the floor up to our European friends; and they won't be playing at ungodly hours. One "Early Bird Room" is currently open, but if interest from our neighbors grows, more rooms will likely spring up. These Rooms will also be filled with people whose schedules do not bode well with the 9:00 p.m. start date (EST).
[Update 1]: If you want to host, please specify any specific settings you are interested in having for your game. Difficulty settings, Meta-Game on/off, etc. Otherwise, all Rooms will be considered as being on Normal difficulty with no Meta-Game and no handicaps or anything of the like.
Yep, you know it's coming. Quite quickly, in fact. Talking about the release of a little game called Halo 3, if you hadn't guessed. And I'm thinking of organizing a Halo 3 Online Co-op "event" hosted by the UNSCDF.
I know it might be a little early, but it's only two and a half weeks away now. Plus, this gives us time to get everyone who wants to play in a room. Time-wise, I'm thinking we do it [Friday] September 28th, 2007 at 9:00 pm EST (click here [new window] to find out what this time means for you). That'll give us some time to enjoy the campaign ourselves before we delve into a romp through Co-Op Legendary. Plus, it's a Friday - no need to call in sick. That being said I'm open to suggestions for other dates/times.
Basically, here's the format. We may have different "rooms", depending on how many people we can round together for this (obviously off-site, since the only people currently posting here are staff).
Room 9 (aka "Early Bird Room 1") - For those who want to get in on the action early.. or who are in foreign countries. >Host: Magni Harvald (GT: Magni Harvald) - UNSCDF [Forum] >Player 2: Lucifer 034 (GT: Lucifer 034) - N/A >Player 3: Mjonir (GT: Mjonir) - UNSCDF [Forum] >Player 4: sharpsniper99 (GT: bobbysingh99) - ABO
Room 10 (aka "Early Bird Room 2") - For those who want to get in on the action early.. or who are in foreign countries. >Host: bobbysingh99 (GT: bobbysingh99) - N/A >Player 2: steve2frag (GT: steve2frag) - UNSCDF >Player 3:
>Player 4:

That's obviously the current list (will fill in as people sign up), but if you would like host another Room, do so and post the above format in a reply. I'll add to this thread with all the rooms once they start being formed.
This isn't meant to be UNSCDF-only, obviously. Try to get as many people you can to join up. Friends, cousins, online friends, pets, whatever. But make sure you highlight who is from where. For instance, if you get somebody from, say, HBO, put "<theirname/Gamertag>-HBO" in your reply. This is a COMMUNITY EVENT, so try to get as many people from as many different settings you know as possible. It'll make for some AWESOME times, and some interesting writeups and Saved Films/Screenshots on the site.
This is going to be an awesome thing, and if it becomes popular enough we can continue it until it fades out (IF it fades out). There's also the possibility it will morph into both a co-op and multiplayer event. Friday Night Halo-Fests, anyone?
My brother and I will join if there's enough people in Europe to have a room start 12 hours later. Right now the games would start 3 hours before I have to wake up to go to school :(
You go to school on a Saturday? Your profile on here says you're from France, so I'm not too sure how it could be so far ahead. For instance, right now here in the US it's 8:38 pm Saturday night (Eastern time), and by the flash World Clock I'm looking at it indicates France is at 2:32 a.m. Sunday morning.
That's a difference of around six hours. So if we started the games at the planned time of 9:00 p.m. EST, that would only be around 3:00 a.m. for you. Still kind of late, but it wouldn't be a school day; unless you guys go to school on weekends over there.
That being said I understand your predicament, and have setup and "Early Bird" room just for Europeans interested in this.. and any other people who want to get in on the action before 9:00 p.m.
I'm from Belgium, hoping my spoken English will be good enough, you can add me in the Early Bird Room. GT: Mjonir
sharpsniper99 has got problems with the registration to this forum and told me to ask you if he could be moved to the Early Bird Room since he's from England.
