Steve Irwin's Gone!

Just this morning, as I posted about the opening of the Contest, Steve Irwin got a stingray barb straight through his heart while filming a documentary.  Sad day in that respect, and coincidental that it was put on the news right when the contest opened up.

We'll miss you and your crazy antics, Steve.  Goodbye.

I wonder how he lived so long? I think he almost died at least 5 times (once legaly. His heat stoped for 2 min. - snake bite).

At least it was quick, and he was doing what he loved.

Wow, I hadn't known that.  What's weird to me is where the stingray struck him.  I mean, the barb went right under his ribcage, up, and directly into his heart.  That's just weird.

I had actually watched one of his (many) shows a lot when I was younger.  I believe it was called Croc Files, or something close to that.  Lately though, there hadn't been anything from him (to my knoweledge), except that Discovery Channel commercial for that "Race to Replace" Lance Armstrong thing where he made about a 1 sec. appearance.  And I doubt that that documentary he was filming will ever air now.
