Article/Article Add-on Submission Guidelines
Permalink Closed

Yes, you read the thread headline right. You can now submit articles, or add-ons to existing articles, to the UNSCDF. Weapons, Vehicles, Equipment, Locations, you name it, you can most likely send it. But obviously, they will have to be screened first, and that means both by the staff, and your peers. Whether you send it to us via e-mail at the official Fan Submissions Account, or here on the forum, it will be reviewed greatly. Follow the notes and rules below for either a full blown article, or just an add-on to one by the staff.

Submitting An Add-on To an Existing Article

Submitting an add-on to an existing article by the staff is a welcomed and appreciated submission to the site, which helps further our goal. Whether it be a paragraph of analytical excellence that you yourself found either in-game or in the books of something we forgot, or just some notes/information you found in either the books or games, you will see your name up in the article credits. But, there's a few guidelines you must follow to be able to see that happen.

1. Do not attack the original author of an article just because they missed something. Just kindly point out what they missed, and post it here. You'll get credit for it, so there's no need to get nasty toward the original author!

2. Try to keep your add-ons short. We're not looking for a page long entry (unless it's really good analytical stuff). If that happens, we'll have to take the time to break it down, and in the meantime other things may get delayed in the process. So keep your submissions short to about 2-3 paragraphs in length.

3. If your submitting us just notes you managed to scrounge up, then so be it, but please put them in bullet or numbered format. We don't want a huge paragraph or run-on sentence that contains around eighteen different facts you managed to find.

4. Remember to atleast post a link to your e-mail address (if you submit it to us via forum), so we may contact you (unless you have it in your profile).

Follow those simple rules and your add-on will probably make it through!

Submitting a Full-Fledged Article

This will probably be used least out of the two submissions, since, if you like writing analytical articles similar to UNSCDF, you might as well just join us. But in the case that you just want an article you wrote to be seen, and you do not expect to do any more for UNSCDF, then just follow these simple rules.

1. Please, please follow our format. You do not have to include a picture, but atleast go through the various "categories" seen at the top of an article, under a picture, and fill them out for your respected article type. Then the actual article following suite. If you cannot find the information for the aforementioned categories, then make sure you put that in your post. We could do research that for you, but you MUST say that you couldn't/can't find the info for a reason, whatever it may be.

2. Make sure it is legible. If we cannot read it, then it will most likely be scrapped.

3. Length is a tricky thing. You don't want your article submitted on the forum to be too short, but you do not want it to take up an entire forum page and a half when posting it. So, to the best of your ability, keep an article around a half to three fourth's of a page long at most.

Notes: Your article or article add-on, if accepted, will appear on the corresponding article section, and you will be given credit for it. Also of note is that we will respond to every article/add-on submission. Not on the forum (we don't really want to let you down by announcing that "sorry, your article did not pass" on a public forum, if it comes to it), but in either e-mail, or a private message. Either way, every entry will receive a response.
