Not that I will confirm or deny anything here, but we were just wondering what Contests you guys might be interested in entering? The previous Fan-Fiction Contest was, quite obviously, only for fan fiction writers (or just plain writers), which somewhat limited entry numbers. So, what do you want in a new Contest here at the UNSCDF? Any ideas of new or previous contests are welcome.
A machinima - but must be a single film under like....i dont know, 10 minutes in length. This isnt like a montage fest, in fact ban montages and stuff like that, it has to be a comedy or drama or action (with at least some words or plot) - and seperate them into those categories and find the best of each.
Maybe an art contest too, although their already is one of each of those (but i think their were fanfic contests in the past so who cares! their are emmy's oscars, sags, etc so i guess doubling up contests is good, then maybe people who didnt win one will try another and win at that)
Well, looks like the general consensus now is either a Machinima thing or another Fan-Fiction Contest. I like both ideas, but I find the Machinima idea to be sort of... isolating.
Seriously. Think about the few people who actually have capture cards, machinima skills, and good voice actors. Really all a contest like this would be for would be current machinima makers, in which case I think something like that should be handled by a machinima site.
But what about something... else. Something different. Broaden your minds a bit in your thinking of Contests.
ship/vehicle/craft design contest, awards for the top Covenant Vehicles, warship, and weapon, and for the top UNSC vehicle, warship, and weapon design!
selected for feasibility, usefulness, and overall badassness!
And if we were to do another contest of the above types, I would go with a fan fic contest. I have the capture card and voice acting, but I only have... say... 1 person
But new ideas... I don't know. I really like Roland's idea.
