In Need of Good Template Designers *For New Site*

As you've probably heard from the news, we're moving to the Gamespy network.  More specifically, Halo Planet is hosting us.  Pretty big honor to be accepted to be hosted by one of the big 3 in Halo websites, so thanks to the HP and Gamespy crews for that.


That being said, our site is in DESPERATE need of an updated template.  Our old one is... well.. too old.  And our newer version has an un-findable glitch that makes all of the page gray, instead of just the very background of it. 


So we're asking you, the fans to think up and perhaps Photoshop a new template for us, and post it on this thread!  Of course you'll get credit on the site, along with probably having access to all the perks of a Staff member.  I haven't asked staff members like UnrealChief (who was actually able to get the site on the Gamespy servers!), because to my knoweledge he isn't experienced in this area.  If you are Chief, well.. sorry, just post whatever you can get here then!


I know Roland could perhaps figure something out as well, but you do not necessarily have to be gifted with website ski11z to do this.  Just having basic Photoshop abilities will work, hopefully.  Below are some specifics of what we would like to see in this "contest".  "Contestants" must follow these specifications or they most likely will not be accepted.


Specs


*In size, must not be greater than 640x1010, or less than the size of the big UNSCDF logo.


*Colors must be somewhat similar to what we have now.  Blues, grays, and whites are welcome.


*We're looking for more of a quote, "Internet 2" look for the new design.  Try to go for rounded corners, a nice banner, and good NavBar.


Follor these specs, and put your own signature thing on your piece.  Then, either post it here on this forum page, or if you're a non-forum member, send it on over to the Hotmail account.  And remember, your design may very well be the design that we will use for years to come, so make it simple yet elegant, unique yet familar.  And above all, have fun with it!

Humm... just use this as reference.  Zertuche whipped this up last night or so.  Doesn't have to be this elegant, but just provide a nice uploaded image of what your vision of the site would be.

Which goes to show you that dispit Major Silva specs we will not mind in the slightest to see some more orginial interpretations of a UNSCDF site templet.

Me - I kinda dig the Gold look the logo has.

so did this site ever get setup? haloplanet doesnt have it listed and the URL just goes to a vacant folder. I sure hope this site didn't die!

We're not dead yet, b%*&$es.

Anyway, the site's up for staff members ONLY. Meaning, only a select few have access to it. Speaking of which, we have a new writer. I won't reveal his identity just yet, but some of you may recognize him.

He's a big contributor to the Halo 3 forum on GameSpot/GameFAQs. We're really excited about the new guy...we certainly expect a bit from him. You should too.

Hopefully you got what you wanted Roland, if not, all I can say is you're too slow!  LoneRanger gave me a stern talking to on the matter, and I agree that you should also be on the surprise of the site.  So.. if you didn't get a peek already, you'll just have to wait.

Well not to be an ass or anything but dude why did you guys put that the template is copyrighted by liquify designs and solidmercury... The template design is technically mine all he did is changed colors. the code would be his i guess so put Designed by liquifydesigns.com Coded by solidmercury.org that would be the proper way to do it. Also another thing the articles the credits are just not right like the Combat Knife article I mostly did it myself M6D just added notes and CK just like checked for spelling or something i think or maybe posted the articles so its not fair that one dude writes like a page long article then this other dude adds like 3 sentences and another dude checks for spelling and adds it to the site... I think you should do like Main Article by dude1 with helped by dude 2 and 3. I think that would be fair. Just an idea.
